Peter's Project was established in late 2008, in honour of Warrnambool man, Peter Jellie who died of oesophageal cancer in 2008 and driven by his wife Vicki.

Peter’s Project began as a community lobby group to bring improved cancer services and radiotherapy to the South West region of Victoria.

After hard work and persistence in the political field lobbying Local, State and Federal Governments, Peter's Project moved to a fund- raising phase. This resulted in $5 million dollars being raised by the regional community and everaging $10 million from the Federal Government and $15 million from the Victorian.

State Government enabling the $30 million state- of-the-art radiotherapy and integrated cancer centre, the South West Regional Cancer Centre, opening its doors to patients in July 2016.

The success of attaining the SWRCC in Warrnambool, would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the regional community.

Peter’s Project transitioned to a philanthropic foundation in 2014, and now the Peter’s Project Foundation, continues to support cancer services across the region.
